Get to Know Your Richland Criminal Defense Lawyer

Some of the most frequently asked questions I have received include:
What is your educational background? I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 1974, then earned
my Doctor of Law in 1990 from the University of Oregon School of Law.
What did you do before becoming an attorney? Before becoming a lawyer, I worked in the movie business as a writer and
a dialogue coach.
What is one of your most notable cases? I have tried dozens of cases to verdict. Most recently, I tried a case
for four and a half weeks in the United States Federal District Court.
My client was charged with wire fraud, major fraud against the United
States and two counts of filing false claims. The jury came back in less
than six hours with not guilty on all charges. Prior to the trial, ten
different defendants pled guilty to one or more of the counts.
What is your focus as a criminal defense attorney? I have successfully defended people charged with driving under the influence,
domestic violence, assault, rape, child molestation, kidnapping, murder.
I have successfully defended people who have been charged with three strikes
and were facing mandatory life in prison without possibility of parole.
I have represented major league baseball players and the copyright interests
of highly successful Hollywood producers. I have been a trial lawyer for
twenty five years.
